Dr. Jim Ryan began working at Essentia Health-Moose Lake and Essentia Health-Sandstone in February 2024.
He graduated with honors from the University of Minnesota Medical School. Dr. Ryan attended a five-year residency at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, where he trained in general surgery and endoscopy (including colonoscopy and upper endoscopy).
Dr. Ryan is certified by the American Board of Surgery.
He has lived in the Moose Lake area since 2002. Dr. Ryan previously worked at Mercy Hospital in Moose Lake between 2002 and 2005. Since his arrival in 2002, he has raised his children and coached youth sports (hockey and baseball).
Dr. Ryan practices endoscopic and advanced wound care. He plans to bring wound care services into the clinic and local long-term care facilities.
