Danielle Urness joins Essentia Health-Duluth Clinic to practice neurosurgery

Danielle Urness, an advanced practice registered nurse and certified nurse practitioner,  is excited to begin practicing neurosurgery at the Essentia Health-Duluth Clinic. She has been with Essentia since 2017 working in critical care and is excited to take on this new role.

“My journey as a critical care nurse equipped me with invaluable skills in managing critically ill patients, as did my experience with the vascular surgery team,” said Urness. “I chose to continue my career here because of the organization’s commitment to patient-centered care and the collaborative environment that fosters professional growth and development. I am excited about the opportunity to serve our community in a meaningful way within the neurosurgery team.” 

Urness received her education from Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri. She is certified by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses.

“I want my patients and their families to know that I approach every case with empathy and dedication,” said Urness. “My goal is not only to treat medical conditions, but also to listen and support my patients throughout their journey, ensuring they feel heard and valued.”
